As I am brazilian I'd like to say: Yeah,Viper has its MAGNUM OPUS with "Theatre of FaTE".But it's not their last album. As far as I know, they have released:

SOLDIERS OF SUNRISE(1987): with Andre Mattos.A very unnoriginal and imature album that I see as half Maiden half Walls of Jericho. But it has some great guitars parts already.

THEATRE OF FATE(1989):Whoa!You already know this one HUH? Yeah,Pit Passarel has been always the main songwriter.I don't know why Angels cry sounds so likely this one, while Evolution (the first without Mattos) is so different.Maybe the answer is: you see,Theate of Fate is the album with the most classical influence that I know.Andre Mattos and Rafael bittencourt (Angra's guitarrists) are students (or were I don't know) of a music college.I knew Mattos was studing regency.

EVOLUTION (1992): Mmmm... raw!much more raw! The classical passages were forgotten!More hard rock stuff! Some ballads!! And more raw....some interesting things are the HM hit "Rebel maniac" (became a hit in Brazil) and the cover for Queen:We will rock you.Who sings now is the bassist/leader Pit Passarel, who is not exactly an excellent singer :)

MANIACS IN JAPAN: live in Japan, just it,almost everything is from "Evolution".No big deal.Who sings is Pit.And it is not much great.

COMA RAGE (19??):even more raw.and some times it resembles Rock'n roll.Simple rosck'n roll.I have all previous albums.I've got this one,but I sold it to other guy.I think it is really shit what they've done to their career. The early Viper sounds much more of Andre Mattos's start then Viper's start,if you look at them now...

TEM PRA TODO MUNDO(1996)...or some title like that,it means "It has things for everybody".Believe or not,the band of THEATRE OF FATE changed even more.I didn't listen to this it,but who did didn't like. They cut their hair, they said it was ridiculous to a brazilian band to sing in English so they are singging in Portuguese now.People say they have songs that sounds like poppy-punk,others have samba (brazilian typical music). Much acoustic,sax... Viper no longer exist

Back to Viper
